Nemea Wine Tours

Explore a unique viticultular destination 1 hour away from Athens!

We highly recommend a trip to Nemea region of Peloponnese both to savor the unique local wine varieties paired with food delicacies and to see some interesting cultural spots that introduces you to the history of Greece. Nemea is approximately 120km, just 1 hour away, from Athens, and is worthing a visit to taste a high quality Greek PDO* red wine from the variety of Agiorgitiko.  Agiorgitiko, a name that comes from St. George (Agios Georgios in Greek), is one of the two most recognizable Greek red varieties along with Xinomavro of Naoussa (located in northern Greece).  The area is divided into three sub-zones, classified by altitude where you can find various wineries and taste the different styles of Agiorgitiko together with other Greek wine varieties. Other varieties cultivated in the area are the pink-skinner Moschofilero and Roditis, the white Assyrtiko, Malagousia, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc and the red Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah.

We have prepared 2 wine tours for you in this region, to best serve your needs. One is offering wine and food delight and insight together with acquaintance with the nature of Nemea through a pic nic in the vineyards and a visit in a supreme wine byproducts farm. The second tour combines the premium wine tasting and introduction to the philosophy of the wine production in the region with the cultural visit of the old city of Nafplio, the first capital of Greece.
